afh online documentation - part I (installation)
AFH installation and following usage is as easy as piece of cake :)
First of all, download AFH here, you will be asked for admin login and email. Type in desired login name and your primary email - this email is used by script to dispaly it on error pages and to send you notifications. Downloaded script is fully configured for the following usage. DO NOT MODIFY ITS CODE!
Now, you got downloaded script, save it to your PC hard drive. Next step is really simple as previous - open your favorite FTP manager, connect to your web site location.
Well, now you have to decide where script will recide on your site. Actually it doesn't matter where to put it - you can create special folder for the script or put it right into root www folder, since AFH is written in PHP then there are no special requirements imposed on its location unless your hosting provider requires you to put PHP scripts in some special folder (that's really rare).
Upload script to the chosen location. Chanage its permissions to (0777) or (-rwxrwxrwx).
Now it's a time to run script for the very first time - type in address bar of your browser url of the script like this: http://www.youserver.com/afh.php?admin This "?admin" thing at the end of url says to script that you want to access it as an admin.
Hit enter or click "Go" - you will be prompted for login and password, type in login name you chosen when downloded script and leave empty password field. Click OK.
If you see managment area of the script then congratulations! If not - then probably you misspelled login name - that's the only reason.
The most imoprtant thing you have to do right now - click "general" on the navigation menu.
This is a place where general settings of the script can be changed. You will see note there "warning: password is not set!" which means that you have to set password so noobody except you will access its administrative features. So type in password and click "update" button. This will setup password and please - do not forget it, there is no way to recover it. New password will take place next time you will use script. Or you can try it right now - close browser window and repeat step to access your script.
There is one more imortant setting - license code, if you ordered script you should receive email with a license code, copy it and paste into "license code" field. Click "update" - if license is registered then you will see appropriate note.
Detailed description of the other settings and form registration process can be found in AFH management area marked "?" or on this page.
